Saturday, February 8th, 2025: On the first day of Saturday Scholars, Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Elementary scholars engaged in a day filled with interactive learning, teamwork, and fun! From hands-on activities to engaging games, our CSAS Atoms had a memorable experience that combined education with excitement.
Saturday Scholars provides students with an opportunity to explore new concepts, reinforce their learning, and build friendships in a dynamic and supportive environment. Seeing our students so engaged and enthusiastic was truly inspiring!
Our next Saturday Scholars session is scheduled for March 1st, and we welcome new students to join the fun! There’s still room for more participants, so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity for your child to learn and grow in a fun setting.

Sunday, January 19th, 2025: The Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Middle School Robotics Team has officially launched its competition season. The talented students traveled to Buffalo and participated in the First Tech Challenge Qualifier.
From designing and building robots to programming and problem-solving, our students showcased their passion for STEM in a high-energy, hands-on environment. This competition was not just about testing their technical skills but also about teamwork, adaptability, and perseverance.
Competing against other schools, our Atoms gained valuable real-world experience, learning how to fine-tune their robots and strategize for future events. Despite facing tough competition, their enthusiasm and determination shined through, and they walked away with incredible lessons that will prepare them for success in upcoming challenges.
This is just the beginning for our CSAS Robotics Team! With newfound skills and a drive to improve, they are ready to tackle future competitions with confidence and innovation.

Saturday, January 25th, 2025: A team of bright and enthusiastic Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Middle School Atoms participated in the Micron Robotics Challenge at The Museum of Science & Technology.
This exciting event provided students with a hands-on opportunity to design, build, and program their robots, putting their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to the test. Beyond the competition, students gained valuable STEM experience, learning the fundamentals of robotics, engineering, and teamwork—all essential skills for future careers in technology and innovation.
We’re incredibly proud of our students for their dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm in tackling this challenge. Stay tuned for more STEM adventures at CSAS!
Friday, January 10th, 2025: KC kindergarteners had the pleasure of meeting one of Syracuse City’s Firefighters, Paul Bolinski. Mr. Bolinski is the father of one of the students.
Mr. Bolinski spoke about fire safety and used key vocabulary/phrases such as “stop, drop, and roll.” KC students were inquisitive and wanted to know what it takes to be a firefighter. Mr. Bolinski answered their questions and gave the students goodie bags from the Syracuse City Fire Department as a parting gift. This was a wonderful experience and educational moment for the class.

Thursday, January 23rd, 2025: Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Elementary was buzzing with excitement as families came together for a night dedicated to the joy of reading!
Highlights from the evening included:
Cozy moments spent reading together.
Crafting creative bookmarks to add a personal touch to every story.
Tackling a giant word search that got everyone thinking and laughing!
The joy of reading was in the air, and it was wonderful to see our community celebrating the power of books and imagination.

Monday, January 27th, 2025: January 26- February 1 marks School Choice Week, a nationwide celebration of the power of education and families' ability to choose the best learning environment for their children. At Citizenship & Science Academy Elementary, we are thrilled to join this movement by hosting exciting theme days and honoring the value of educational choice.
School Choice Week highlights the importance of offering diverse educational options, including traditional public schools, public charter schools, private schools, homeschooling, and online academies. At its core, School Choice Week emphasizes that every child deserves a quality education tailored to their unique needs, interests, and goals.

Wednesday, December 18th, 2024: At Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse, our 5th-grade students demonstrated the true spirit of community service by dedicating their recess time to preparing treat bags for the Winter Wonderland event.
Sporting smiles and a sense of purpose, these young leaders worked together to assemble treats that would bring their classmates and families joy during this special celebration. Their efforts showcased their dedication and highlighted the importance of giving back to the school community. The treat bags were a delightful addition to the event, spreading holiday cheer and adding a personal touch to the festivities. The 5th graders’ willingness to spend their free time helping others is an excellent example of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Great job, 5th graders! Your kindness and dedication make our school community brighter and inspire others to pay it forward.
Tuesday, December 17th, 2024: Congratulations to the Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Boys Modified Basketball Team for closing the season with a 54-28 victory! It was an Atom vs. Atom showdown as they faced off against Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School.
The CSAS Atoms finished the season with an impressive 9-3 record! Great job on a fantastic season!
Friday, December 20th, 2024: The week before winter recess at Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Middle School was full of fun and school pride with Spirit Week! CSAS Atoms showcased their creativity with Sports Day, Decades Day, School Color Day, Sweater Day, and Twin Day.
Both students and staff had an amazing time celebrating together!
Tuesday, December 17th, 2024: At Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse Elementary School, first graders have been diving into the Positivity Project, focusing on the character strength of OPM (Other People Mindset). This lesson encouraged students to explore the importance of helping others who are struggling and fostering a culture of kindness and understanding.
During these engaging sessions, the young #CSASAtoms shared thoughtful and compassionate ways to assist those in need. From sharing toys to picking up items someone dropped, offering encouragement to a friend feeling sad, and tying shoes for someone who needed a helping hand, these students demonstrated an impressive level of empathy and care for others.
This activity highlighted the power of kindness and inspired a sense of responsibility and community in these young learners. It’s heartwarming to see these students embracing the values of empathy and teamwork, setting the foundation for a lifetime of positive interactions.
